I have discovered that I really suck at sims, driving cleanly and staying on the line is super hard!
I've been driving with the racing line on, but as it's not dynamic I think it is hurting more than helping, although is does kinda show you where to trail brake.
I need to practice much more. Also, the Zonda R is effing awesome as always.
Of course it goes on sale today, two days after I buy it...

Yeah it is! But I also did decide to jump straight into the GT3 cars as well, so it may be me more than the game. That Z4 GT3 sounds good though!

Yeah, sims are less forgiving than arcade style games. One thing that helps a bit is making sure that your display angle and perspective is set up correctly. It will be really hard to judge distances otherwise. While having a narrower field of view will take out alot of the scenery, it will make things approach more progressively, which will help you find the braking and turn-in points. iRacing has a setup utility where you enter in the distance from you to the screen and the width of the screen and it does the rest. I don't remember if AC has that or not. Have you tried the Lotus 98T yet?

It feels great, when everything comes together. Walk away from it, for an hour or two, if it begins to frustrate you.

I have only tried the alfa and fiat, and the pagani's and a gt3 458, haven't tried many of the cars. There is a FOV adjuster, I'll have to fiddle around and see if I can make it feel better.

Also, I forgot to mention that setups are very important. In GT/Forza, the setup changes are mostly kind of subtle, but in sims like AC/iRacing, it really changes the car. If you're having trouble controlling the car, it might be worth it to start playing with setups off the bat to eliminate behavior that you don't like.

Well mostly its the understeer, I can handle the RWD cars half decently, but I mess up the corners in FWD a lot and the push through the entire corner.

Does the Fiat offer rear ARB/sway bar adjustment? Stiffening or adding a rear sway bar does wonders for the front of a FWD car. If not, if you increase the rebound damping at the back and lower the compression damping at the front. There's also tire pressure, but that kind of depends on how the car is pushing and whether it's rolling onto its side or skipping across the track, which is pretty hard to tell in a sim. It's mostly trial and error, but I'd focus on a few cars that you like and try to get the most out of them since they're all so much more different from each other than they would be in a video game.

The Zonda R is my jam, but it's probably not the greatest car to hone skills on haha. Thanks for the tips!
